Hey, Internet besties!
I wanted to start a monthly recap because some things aren't big enough for a whole blog post, and so many exciting things are happening and going to be happening this year, so here we are.
Here's what happened in January 2020,
I rang in the new year with my parents who came to visit my boyfriend and I from South Florida. I gave my mom a tour of a nearby town called Thomasville, we had lunch and brought fireworks. For dinner we ate at the most amazing restaurant in Tallahassee, Table 23 (I highly recommend it if you are ever in Tallahassee) and went home and set off fireworks, stayed up till 12:05 and went to bed, LOL we were pretty tired. The next morning my parents left and my boyfriend took me out to brunch which is a little tradition (I have gotten brunch on New Year's day for the past 5 or 6 years)
I Finished up one month at my new job as a Media Coordinator for the City of Quincy Florida. Even though I had been at the job a month a felt really out of place and working for local government isn't really my dream.
I chopped a lot of my hair and added a lot of highlights. I love it, I haven't had a haircut in over 8 months! I was nervous because the same girl has cut my hair since I was 8, but with moving to Tallahassee it isn't really possible to go see her. I am so glad I took a chance up here, I found the most wonderful women, and she did an amazing job.
I then got an interview for a better job, a job that I was actually excited about. Which was so crazy for me because I spent over 3 months looking for a job. I know I have a job in the city but I only took it for the money, and for me, a job is about so much more than that. You spend more time at work than you do at home, so you need to make sure you like your job. So I was excited about this opportunity.
On January 15th me and my boyfriend left for Disney, and little did I know I would return home with a fiancée. James proposed to me in front of Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom (One of my favorite spots in the parks, and my favorite ride). I can't describe how overjoyed I was. We spent a wonderful 4 days in Disney and got to ride Rise of the resistance which if you didn't know if a new ride in Hollywood Studios. If you are a Disney Nerd like me you will be blown away the ride was SO incredible, I got of and needed time to process how blown away I was before me and my now fiancée talked about it. (Yes, I'm a huge Disney Nerd) If you wanna see all my Disney adventures head over to my Instagram and check out my Disney stories highlight. I also can't wait to share all the things about my engagement, and all the plans so keep checking back on the blog! I can share that we will not be having a Disney wedding.
The following week we had a valentines day photoshoot and started planning our engagement party which is on February 22nd, 2020 in South Florida at one of our favorite restaurants, with family and close friends.
We are trying to buy a home as our lease is up in April so we applied for a loan and we were approved! So we will be buying a home! We love our rental but it is expensive are 30 minutes to town, and we wanna move closer to town. We also want something that is ours.
I heard back from that job interview, and they wanted a second interview. So I went for my second interview (excited but nervous) only to find out that it wasn't an interview but they were offering me the job and wanted to just make sure that I wanted it, I had got this amazing job with some pretty cool people. So I am so excited about this new opportunity, as it is definitely more of what I'm looking for. I can't wait to share more deets. Like I said you need a job you can be excited about. I officially start on February 4th so wish me luck Y'all.
So in a recap of the recap, I got engaged and Disney World, I'm about to start an amazing new job and we are going to be buying a home. Wow, January was so good and 2020 is off to a fabulous start, I knew this year was gonna be great, and I know there are so many other amazing things coming. I hope you all had a wonderful January. Bring it on February!
